New CIO Appointed

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Bill Jojo has been appointed Chief Information Officer.

Bill has an advanced graduate certificate in Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies, a Master of Arts degree in Learning and Emerging Technologies, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Mathematics, and Technology. An alumnus of Hudson Valley, he earned both an AAS in Computing and Information Science and an AS in Mathematics and Science. He also is certified by the Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation and the Linux Professional Institute.

Bill began working at Hudson Valley in 1989 and has held numerous positions within ITS — computer operator, technical assistant, systems administrator, senior systems and network specialist, and most recently, interim CIO.  He has also been an adjunct instructor in the Computer Information Systems/Computing and Information Science department since 1996 and has taught Programming & Logic I and II, Computer and Information Security, and Operating Systems Concepts.

He was a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service in 2015 and the Campus Access Award from the SUNY Disabilities Services Council in 2007.

Bill’s experiences within the department over the past 33 years, along with his demonstrated leadership as interim CIO, made him the ideal candidate for the position. His institutional knowledge, positive attitude, and understanding of the higher education technology landscape will serve him well as CIO.

Please join me in congratulating Bill on his new position!
